He is planning to shoot some footage seven miles underwater in the Challenger Deep, the deepest point of the Mariana Trench and also the deepest location on earth. The pressure at such a depth would be over 8 tons per square inch - far beyond the capabilities of even the most advanced Russian military subs, which can handle only 1,600 pounds per square inch. He is buiding a new battle ship and camera for the movie to withstand the pressure under the ocean.
Jon Landau the producer of avatar has announced that the release date for Avatar 2 is going to be 2016 rather than the previously-announced 2014. Like everyone else around the world even we are waiting for the Canadian director for his master piece again.
